Mark began his career working in banking and finance in Australia, specialising in international projects with most of his banking career spent at JPMorgan. Mark has developed an integrated business to facilitate the supply of modular building capabilities leveraging this experience across the rollout of the Tribe Hotel Concept. Mark’s combined experience in the development and banking sectors has enabled him to identify significant market opportunities and build project teams to successfully establish disruptive property platforms including the Tribe Hotel model to the local and international market. Now one of the fastest growing hotel brands globally.

Lucas is responsible for the Point Capital’s investment management business and capital partnerships. In June 2023, Lucas completed the first close of Point Capital’s first Build-to-Rent fund, the Bond Capital JV, a residential for rent SPV. Lucas also oversaw the creation of the Chapter and Co Self-Storage Fund No.2, a value-add self-storage fund. Prior to founding Point Capital, Lucas worked as an Executive Director of Moelis Australia for four years focusing on private capital raising. Whilst at Moelis, Lucas raised capital for a range of alternate real estate sectors including Student Housing, Build-to-Rent, Land Lease Communities and Self-Storage. Before joining Moelis Lucas worked as a real estate investment banker for approximately 10 years at financial institutions such as Merril Lynch. Lucas is currently a Chartered Accountant and holds a double degree in Commerce and Banking and Finance from Flinders University.

Melissa has a background in banking and working for UBS Investment bank. Her prior experience included working across various hospitality and luxury travel businesses. Melissa has most recently spent her time in Europe and the United States analysing hotel models and hospitality trends to develop the Tribe concept according to the limited-service sector. Melissa’s experience includes a keen focus on end-to-end coordination of concept development, brand and value engineered design solutions. Melissa worked with the Accor Global team to shape and develop the Tribe brand for its aggressive global expansion. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor Commerce from the University of Melbourne.

Dan is an Investment Director at Point Capital and brings more than 15 years of experience in investment and funds management. Prior to joining Point Capital, Dan was the Aware Super co-portfolio manager of the $7 billion Credit Income portfolio across Australia, North America and Europe. He was responsible for establishing and managing the fund’s $1 billion direct-to-business lending strategy across corporate, real estate and infrastructure loans. Before this Dan was an associate in the Credit Suisse investment banking team, with coverage responsibility across the Australian real estate sector and a focus on capital raising, M&A, and credit special situations. Dan’s experience also includes 4 years in the PBSA investment and development space with CLV, where his focus included the business’s expansion into the UK market and later the consolidation of the US portfolio. Dan holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association (CAIA) designation, is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney.

Michael Panayi is a highly experienced financial executive with over three decades of expertise in corporate finance, strategic financial planning, and operational management. Currently, as Financial Controller at Point Capital Partners, Michael manages the company’s financial operations and ensures fiscal responsibility and growth. Michael’s corporate career includes key leadership roles at major organizations. As CFO at Unisys Australia, he played a pivotal role in negotiating the company’s largest contract, worth $260M, and led the development of critical financial systems. At Bankers Trust Australia, he was instrumental in re-engineering the company’s budgeting process, implementing innovative data warehousing, and reporting systems. During his tenure at Westfield Holdings, Michael contributed to large-scale development projects, enhancing financial reporting and modelling processes. He began his career at KPMG Australia, where he developed a strong foundation in auditing and financial analysis. Michael is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy from the University of South Australia. His depth of experience in corporate finance, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements makes him a key asset to Point Capital Partners.

Charmian is Development Director at Point Capital. Charmian has over 10 year’s full lifecycle development experience, having previously worked at Iglu to build out $1 billion end-value of institutional-grade purpose-built student accommodation across Australia, and most recently in leading the day-to-day management of the $2 billion redevelopment of Australia’s pre-eminent business precinct, Chifley. Charmian holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Project Management) and Bachelor of Commerce, both from Sydney University.

Andrew Cheshire has over 20 years’ experience in the property industry managing full life-cycle large-mixed-used developments across Australia and the United Kingdom. Andrew has a strong contractor-management background working for Tier 1 and 2 contractors in the UK and Australia. This experience equipped him with extensive delivery and technical expertise, and combined with a detailed and meticulous approach to problem solving, enables him to drive for the best commercial outcomes for the business. Andrew holds a BSC (Hons) Construction Management Degree from The University of Manchester.

Tim is General Manager of the MPModular Business and brings over 24 years’ experience in the commercial building industry, with 12 of those years specialised in modular construction. Tim has managed commercial and industrial projects throughout Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and China, including hospitals, schools, tunnels, hotels, and mining camps. Tim began his career as a carpenter, and was awarded QLD Master Builders Apprentice of the Year.

James is an Investment Manager at Point Capital. Prior to joining Point Capital, he was a Private Equity Associate in BlackRock’s Real Estate team. James transacted over $1 billion of real estate assets in both traditional and alternate sectors on behalf of BlackRock’s APAC value-add fund, and led the asset management for various A-Grade investments. Prior to specialising in real estate, James worked across a number of BlackRock funds, covering multi-asset portfolios across traditional and alternative asset classes. He worked closely with portfolio managers and product strategists, assisting with portfolio construction, risk and return attribution analysis, and raising institutional capital. James is currently a CFA Charterholder, is a member of the CFA Institute, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Accounting) from the University of New South Wales.
