One of the world’s top fund managers, PGIM Real Estate, has joined forces with the founders of modular hotel chain Tribe, with plans to create a portfolio of co-living facilities worth as much as $750 million. The venture is up and running, with seed assets secured in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley and in Sydney’s Parramatta.

5.3.19 The Australian Financial Review Accor purchases Tribe Hotel brand with sights on global expansion
Accor has swooped on homegrown prefabricated hotel brand Tribe, backed by Financial Review Rich Listers the Smorgon and Tarascio families, with plans to turn it into a global business. The French hotel giant, the country’s biggest operator of hotels and resorts, said it was in negotiations to develop more than 50 of the modular hotels around the world after becoming the majority owner of Tribe.
